. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

Oh Happy Week

I am on a super high right now! This Friday I am going with my Twilight bestie, Candice, to see ECLIPSE!!!

I am so super excited about this movie because it was my favorite book! It like everything is finally coming together for Bella and Edward.

We are looking around to find out which theater we think will be least crowded. But I am sure it is going to be packed everywhere.

We are also thinking of places to eat before hand. For those who live in Memphis if you have a favorite place in the Wolfchase area let me know!

I also think I need a really fun shirt to wear that night! I have seen some that says "real men sparkle". I might get that one. Have you seen any other cute shirts?

Do you have big Eclipse plans?

Hi I'm Laura (Hi Laura)

And I am a hopeless romantic. haha!!

Sometimes I feel like I need to go to an HRA (Hopeless Romantics Anonymous) meeting. I love so much old movies where men still pursue woman, and they are gentleman! Any day of the week I will pick to watch a good chick flick or pick up a Nicholas Sparks book!

Wednesday I had a little extra time before going to church so I hopped in to Barnes in Noble. I know if you read my last post you know that I don't have time to read but I just love going to a bookstore and looking around. While I was browsing I found two books that I have to get when I start reading again.

This is the description on the inside cover:

Remember the wonderfully romantic book of love letters that Carrie reads aloud to Big in the recent blockbuster film, Sex and the City? Fans raced to buy copies of their own, only to find out that the beautiful book didn't actually exist. However, since all of the letters referenced in the film did exist, we decided to publish this gorgeous keepsake ourselves.

A second book was published shortly after. This is the description on its cover:

As a companion to Love Letters of Great Men, this anthology gives the other side of the story: the secret hopes and lives of some of the greatest women in history, from writers and artists to politicians and queens. From the private papers of Anne Boleyn and Jane Austen to those of Emily Dickinson and Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, Love Letters of Great Women collects together some of the most romantic letters in history.

Oh I can't wait to have time to read again and grab these little treasures!

*SIGH*

The only issue with my wonderful little trip was when my mom was checking out they asked her if she would like to sign up and get a membership card. She would save 10% on every purchase. I am intrigued because I have a card for Borders already! With Borders I got the card for free and then every time after a purchase I would get an email from them with a 20% of coupon for next time!

So I asked the friendly clerk how much would it be to become a member? It is $25 a year! What?! So in a year I would have to spend $250 to just break even because you only save 10% each time. The average book cost $25 or $30 dollars, I splurge and the the hardback! So I would have to buy 10 books a year. I probably by about 7 or 8 so I would not even break even and forget saving any money?!

Are any of y'all members of Barnes and Noble? Am I wrong? Cause that just does not sound like a good plan to me?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Wishful Wednesday . . . Lost

'I wish' .... I hadn't lost my time to read!!

Lately I have not had time to read which is devastating to me! I love reading and I have a stack of books next to my bed. I am sure they feel like I am ignoring them. Hopefully things will slow down here in the next few weeks and I can start reading again.

Here are some of the books patiently waiting on me.

This one is probably yelling at me to pick it up. On a happy side note. I ran for the first time since the knee injury. Just a mile but it didn't hurt so that looks promising.

What do you wish you hadn't lost? Jump over to Kelsey's blog and play along.

Catch Me If You Can

For those of you that have been following me for a while know that I love running. I ran my very first Half Marathon in December for St. Jude. Afterwards though I had a lot of pain in my knee. I went to the doctor and was put in a brace with no physical activity for 8 weeks. Then very limited activity. I blogged about it here.

Well I have been just walking lately. I walk about 3 miles each time. On July 3rd there is the Firecracker 5K. I am really wanting to participate so I think I am going to sign up. I doubt I will be able to run the whole time so I am planning on doing a walk-run! But at least it will get me back into racing. I am so excited!

The race is at night so that it will not be so hot! The heat index in Memphis today is between 105 and 110.

Has anyone ran that race before? Or know anyone who has?

Wedding Weekend

This weekend was jammed pack with wedding festivities. First I had Lauren's rehearsal. My friend Kim had an engagement party and then it was all finished up with Lauren and Chris's wedding.

Here is me and the bride!

Bunny sang at the wedding.

It was beautiful! She had so many of our sorority sisters there. This is us singing to her!

Now that the wedding is over I will be spending this week catching up on everything that I let slide.
How was your weekend?

Take Me to the Theater

Last night we had our first meeting about FCA Camp! For the last three years we have hosted an inner city football team at my church and provide them a place to practice and have camp as well as teach them about Christ. Basically I just get to love on them and cater to their every need. And that is something that they don't get a home.

This year we have the ability, and space, to host two teams! This will be very challenging but I am sure we can handle it. God will provide everything we need, I know it! My biggest fear is not being able to give each player enough individual attention. But again I am sure that each one will feel very loved!

Oh I am so excited!!

Central High School- This is their Fourth year

Douglass High School- First year at any camp

Tonight Bunny and I are heading downtown. We are going to enjoy a movie at the Orpheum. I love the Orpheum! It is so Memphis and I have seen so many wonderful movies and Broadway shows there!

The movie tonight is A Philadelphia Story, which I LOVE!! And I am wearing a cute new dress. It is fuchsia and has a zipper all the way up the back so I had to wear these shoes with it!

Get excited it's almost the weekend!!

Top 2 Tuesday . . . Guilty Pleasures

I am so excited about this Top 2!!

My two guilty pleasures are

1. US Weekly- I have to have the new US weekly every week as soon as it comes out. I even know which stores have them out early sometimes. And I will always stop by on my way home from work and check on Thursdays! I then have to read the whole thing in one sitting.

2. Teeny Bopper Shows- I love a good high school sitcom. Don't think that is all I watch though. I do love Monday night CBS shows; however, I have such a soft spot for The O.C., One Tree Hill is my obsession and now I have become addicted to Pretty Little Liars!

What are your guilty pleasures? If you want to play along hop over to The Undomestic Momma!

Last Week of McHugh

Is it Monday already?! My weekend flew by and now this week/ weekend is going to be packed as well. And it is all because of this girl!

Yep she will no longer be Lauren McHugh because on Saturday she will be Lauren Ward!

This weekend we celebrated her last moment of singleness. We started with a lingerie shower where she got some cute yet still modest things. Bless her heart she was red the entire time. We followed that with dinner at Huey's (yummy) and then downtown for some dancing. She does love to dance!

Me and Bunny with the Bride To Be!!

Me and Bunny taking a break from all the dancing!

How was ya'lls weekend?

Fashion Friday . . . Bridesmaid

Well it is Friday and I very much need a weekend! Is it just me or did this week creep by!?

Thanks to all of my blogging buddies for not forgetting about me this week as I was M.I.A. But I am back now and I will be catching up and commenting on all the wonderful blogs I missed this week.

For this installment of Fashion Friday I need some help with my hair for Lauren's wedding next weekend. We are going to be wearing our hair up but I don't want to look like I am 16 and going to prom.

Here is what I was thinking.

Do you like it? Or have any suggestions?

Have a great weekend!

I'm Still Here

I have seriously been neglecting my blog lately!

We had corporate in our office this week so that took up so much time. And I am just so busy when I get home too.

I woke up this morning exhausted and so far my day has not gotten any better. I feel like I am just physically, mentally and emotionally drained! So please everyone say a little prayer for me that I will make it through the day without a break down!

One of my co-workers just sent me a quote of the day: "The will of God will never take you where the grace of God cannot protect you." I don't think she knew how much I needed that this morning but God sure did!!

I will try to be a better blogger and be more attentive! And I promise the next blog will be more upbeat!! haha!

Swimsuit Season

Well it is swimsuit season! I know how excited everyone is to put on that little bikini. Haha yea right!

Bunny and I had lunch yesterday, like we do every Thursday, and we decided to get get a personal trainer and split the time and the cost.

We already have a gym membership and they offer personal trainers for an extra fee. We feel like we need someone to push us. When we workout together we have a tendency of stopping if we get tired. Or saying "That's close enough". haha!

The task of getting all the information has gone to Bunny. She is looking into it on Monday. So my question to all of you is have you ever had a personal trainer? Am I going to regret this?

My goal is to really tone up but not to get bulky looking. It is not cute when you look like one of those body builder women. haha!

These are my inspiration women.

Jessica Biel:

Kelly Ripa:

And she has even had three kids so I should totally be able to do it right?

Happy Friday Ya'll!

Summertime in Memphis

I love summertime in Memphis! This week has been the best so far because I got two email notifications!

It is officially time for the summer movies at the Orpheum! There is nothing like seeing old movies at the Orpheum with my girls. I am most excited about these movies.

It is also time for Kix on Beale! In the years past I have seen Lady Antebellum, Trent Tomlinson and Jake Owen there. Best part is it is completely free!

This year the singers are JoDee Messina, James Otto, Randy Houser, Sunny Sweeny, and Trailer Chior.

Summer is here!!

I also want to wish my Mom a Happy Birthday!! I love you!
