. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

Lead Me

Last night I was driving home from spending some much needed catch up time with my friend Lauren when I heard this song on K Love. It is called Lead Me and the group that sings it is Sanctus Real.

Sanctus Real - “Lead Me”

I look around and see my wonderful life
Almost perfect from the outside
In picture frames I see my beautiful wife
Always smiling
But on the inside, I can hear her saying...

“Lead me with strong hands
Stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love
Chasing dreams, what about us?

Show me you're willing to fight
That I'm still the love of your life
I know we call this our home
But I still feel alone”

I see their faces, look in their innocent eyes
They're just children from the outside
I'm working hard, I tell myself they'll be fine
They're in independent
But on the inside, I can hear them saying...

“Lead me with strong hands
Stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love
Chasing dreams, but what about us?

Show me you're willing to fight
That I'm still the love of your life
I know we call this our home
But I still feel alone”

So Father, give me the strength
To be everything I'm called to be
Oh, Father, show me the way
To lead them
Won't You lead me?

To lead them with strong hands
To stand up when they can't
Don't want to leave them hungry for love,
Chasing things that I could give up

I'll show them I'm willing to fight
And give them the best of my life
So we can call this our home
Lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

Father, lead me, 'cause I can't do this alone

I thought it was such a beautiful song. But the part that moved me the most about it was the story. The lead singer Matt wrote this song for his wife and kids after she had sat him down and told him that she needed him to be the leader of their home more. She talked about how hard it was when he came home from traveling and he was disconnected from their family. If you want to watch the video of them talking about it then go to the Sanctus Real website.

Today also starts the first day of FCA Camp! I am so excited! The teams should be getting to the grove this afternoon. I cannot wait to see what God is going to do in their lives!!

Top 2 Tuesday

Top 2 Favorite perfumes/colognes/scents

1. Chanel Chance
I love this perfume. My bestie, Bunny, first introduced this to me about 3 years ago and I love it!

2. Chanel Allure
This is my favorite men's cologne. However, I really love all men's cologne. It is my favorite thing to walk by the cologne counter at the mall and take a big whiff! There is nothing like a really good smelling man.

What is your favorite? Hope over to The Undomestic Momma and play along!

My Old Kentucky Home

Happy Monday!!

I feel so relaxed and ready to go this week. Maybe its the fact that I had a nice three day weekend or maybe its because I know that I am only working 3 1/2 days this week?

For my three day weekend I went up to Kentucky, Danville to be specific, and visited some family. It was wonderful! I have been missing my grandmother so much lately so it was really nice to be back up there where she lived and remember her! I also got to visit with some of my great aunts. They are the funniest old women ever. On Saturday I saw a Lexington Legends baseball game and fireworks afterwards. I had a wonderful time with some good company and laughed a ton!

Sunday was spent coming home. I do not enjoy that 7 hour drive!

I mentioned earlier that I have a short week this week. That is because it is FCA Camp time at church. I know many of you have heard me talk about how much I love those boys and being able to just love on them during their camp. So everyone please say and extra prayer that God will begin to work on their hearts this week before camp.

I hope you all have a great week!

Oh The Lies!

So I am completely addicted to this new show, Pretty Little Liars. Has anyone watched it or am I the only one who loves teeny-bopper shows? Last nights show was amazing!!

If you haven't seen this show yet you must! It has everything you could ever want. It has tons of love stories that are of course complicated by high school. A mysterious bad boy and his step sister, who was more than a step sister for a while. And to make it a little edgier a it throws in a dead best friend that might have been more trouble than the four girls ever dreamed. There are secrets upon secrets that they don't even know about each other and the biggest secret of all . . . what happened the night their friend was killed!! (insert dramatic music here)

So I am such a dork and I put off everything I have to do on Tuesday nights so I can watch this show. haha! I recommend it to anyone who has nothing important going on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.

On a side note.

I love Wednesdays! It means that we are officially half way through the week. A little less for me since I will be taking off Friday to go to Kentucky and visit some family.

Today is even little more special because it's my Daddy's Birthday! Happy Birthday Daddy, I love you!

Hope you all have a wonderful half way through the week day!!

Top Two Tuesday!

Top 2 Things I want to purchase . . .

1. A Vacation to Destin (preferably with no oil issues)

I have been so busy lately that I feel like I need a real week long vacation with nothing to worry about. Sadly I don't see that happening anytime soon so I guess I will just have to keep dreaming.

2. A Car (I'm thinking a Nissan Murano)
Old Car
New Car

My car is wonderful. I have had it an impressive 9 years (since I was 16, it was my very first car). It still runs amazingly and I have not had any major issues with it, knock on wood. But it is definitely a teeny-bopper car so I just would love to have a grown up car! Haha!!

What would you purchase? Play along at The Undomestic Momma!

Weekend Wrap-Up

Hi Blog Friends!! I am going to attempt to be much better this week, keyword is attempt.

This weekend was full but so wonderful!! Friday night I did some volunteer hours at The ABA Center in Bartlett. It is a learning/developmental place for kids with Autism.

Saturday I had lunch with Savannah who was in town from Nashville. She is crazy but I have adored her since we were in elementary school. She is the friend that will always make you laugh the whole time your together. I again worked at The ABA Center that night. I was so amazed at the wide range of autism. There were some kids who were so smart when it came to their school work but they were completely non verbal and had to use a computer called a "talker" to communicate. Then there was a little boy who was three years old and had behavioral issues but could read an entire book to you.

I enjoyed my time with those kids so much that I will probably be seeing them again soon!

Saturday night I was exhausted from the day so I spent the night reading and finishing Take 4. If you have ever read any of my blogs then you know that I love Karen Kingsbury's books especially the Baxter family books. This is her spin off series from the Baxters. It was wonderful.

Sunday I started Emily Giffin's newest book Heart of the Matter. I am a little scared that this is going to be a little bit more sad than her previous books but we will see. Has anyone read it yet? Is it any good?

Sunday I also realized that my laptop was not turning on so I have taken it to the repair store. I am hoping that they can save it!!! Please keep your fingers crossed for me!!

Hope you are all having a fabulous Monday!!

I Am Such A Slacker!!!

Hi blog friends! Do you remember me? I have been the worst blogger ever lately. If you have read my latest blogs you know that I swamped.

But I did make sure to have some needed girl time last night. After work Shelby, Stigler and myself went downtown to eat at Blue Fin and then to the Orpheum to see their latest summer movie, Sabrina.

We had a blast I love working with these girls!! Only thing missing was our fourth work bestie Candice. We laughed the majority of the night and talked a ton. I love the Orpheum and old movies, Sabrina was the Audrey Hepburn version, so its fun that Shelby likes those things too. Stigler is not as much into them but she said she had a good time even though we made her wear a dress. But it is a rule of mine no jeans are allowed at the Orpheum even if we are just seeing a movie.

How many of ya'll are looking forward to a relaxing Saturday?!

Me too!!

Isn't Summer Suppose To Be . . .

relaxing?!?!

Here is what the perfect summer looks like.

But sadly I have been swamped!! And this year we weren't able to go to our wonderful beach house in Destin (insert really depressed sad face here)!!

Things will begin to slow down in about the next three weeks just in time for summer to start wrapping up. Oh well I do love the fall! Crispy leaves, cooler weather (come on I live in Memphis we don't have cold weather until January), football season, and of course the holidays!! I am looking forward the next season.

We have been having non stop raining here so its been very cloudy. And with the rain, even though it is hot rain, it makes me cold so I have been sporting my rainboots and light jackets this week, which has put me in the mood for fall!

Is anyone else looking forward to summer being over?

Fireworks Weekend

I love FIREWORKS!!! This weekend was the best!!

<>
Friday night was Eclipse night with some wonderful girls! This was my favorite book so I was extra pumped to see it. It was amazing!

Saturday night was spent running in the Firecracker 5K for St. Jude. It was 90 degrees and miserable but worth it. It was hot but we did manage to complete the race.

Sunday was church and then that night was our church fireworks. They are always my favorite ones.

Monday was a relaxing day off! Bunny, Sarah and I found a pool and did nothing all day. It was very much needing. And now a four day work week! Oh I am a happy girl this morning!

How was your weekend?
