. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

Lime Sherbert With God

I will explain this title at the end of the post!

Tuesday night I had two crazy dreams! So last night I called my sister who has a "dream dictionary" and we looked up what in the world could these mean.

Dream 1: I was trapped in my parents bedroom with and a boy that is in my class this semester and he began to attack me. All the sudden a friend of mine from college shows up and makes the guy stop attacking me. However, we are still trapped in my parents bedroom. So the attack boy sleeps on the bed and I am sleeping on the floor with my friend. I am against the wall with my friend between me and the attack boy. My friend has recently gotten married so I remember thinking how inappropriate it was to be lying there with him, it was not intimate at all, but I felt so much safer that way.

Meaning: From what we could find the fact that I was trapped means that I feel that I am trapped in my inner turmoil. I am fighting between the old and the new, which is why I had the old friend and the new guy from class. There are a lot of changes going on in my life so it could be school or work but probably it is personal stuff since it was in my home and not the office. I am obviously afraid of the new, thus the attack, but I also know that the old is not right, which is why I remember thinking how inappropriate it was.

Dream 2: I am in the hospital being pushed in a wheel chair. I have no idea what is wrong with me or why I am there but the nurse keeps talking about my slow heart rate as a baby. I get so frustrated with her that I jump up and begin yelling that she has no idea what she is talking about cause I am not a baby and I need help now. When I jump up I begin bleeding out of my stomach. I sit back down when I realize this however she begins again to talk about my heart rate when I was born so I jump up to yell again. I begin bleeding more and then pass out.

Meaning: Anytime you dream about your heart you are facing a hardship that is emotionally draining for you. I could also feel like I am being questioned and need to stand up for myself. The nurse symbolizes that I am craving someone to take care of me. Also, my sister is a nurse! So as the nurse, or person of authority, was trying to comfort and take care of me I did not want to listen to her give advice on my heart, or emotional problem, to I began to argue. Which caused me more pain instead of listening because I ended up bleeding out.

Crazy isn't it!!

As I talked with my beautiful Sissy last night she told me that the craziest dream she ever had was right after she got married. She was struggling with a new home, job, city, and being a new wife. So she dreamed that she went to heaven and was hanging out with God. They weren't really talking just spending time together and eating Lime Sherbert! I asked her why Lime Sherbert and she thinks maybe it's Gods favorite because she went to His house and He had it! haha!

So here's hoping that maybe my next dream will be more peaceful and I can go have Lime Sherbert with God.

What do ya'll think? Do the meanings match my dreams? If ya'll have any weird ones that you want to know what they mean then send them to me and I would be happy to look them up for you!

Sorry the post was so long!

Spinning Under The Moon

We made it through another Monday! I always feel like that is an accomplishment!

Last night I went to step class, which I haven't been to in two weeks, but I that is because according to my Half Marathon schedule I needed rest days . . . so I wasn't just skipping. :) I felt great this morning. I love my step class! But I have always wanted to try a SPIN class! Has anyone ever done one before? Do you like it?

As everyone knows October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! I will be participating in a couple of events this month. One, of course, is the Race for the Cure on October 30. The second one is not breast cancer related but it is the Ashley Scott Memorial 5K on October 9. She was a high school teacher that was in an abusive marriage that ended up taking her life. The last event I learned about last night at step class. It's called Spinning Under The Moon. The Bartlett Rec Center is hosting it, but you do not have to be a member to participate. They will have 3 different hours of spin class outside "under the moon". The event is free but they are asking for a $10 donation. Why spinning? Last year the rec center had an instructor that lost her battle with breast cancer and she was a spin instructor. It is going to be held on Oct. 18! I think that is going to be the perfect day for me to give spinning a try!

Let's Breath Easy!!

Since it is now weekend time I feel like I can finally breath easy! Maybe being away from each other for a few days will help with the Mono we have going around.

This weekend is going to be very relaxed. I don't have much planned so I will hopefully get a jump start of some homework and projects that I have for school this week. It is also suppose to be finally cooling off, well a little. This weekend we will no longer be in the 90s!! Which means that I can start running outside.

And now for a Funny Friday!

Don't you feel safe with these guys fighting for you?! I know I do!

Germs, Germs, and more Germs!!!

There are officially 16 people in my office these days (yes we have cut down A LOT) and two are out sick . . . with mono!! My work bestie just went home not feeling well and 2 more are at the doctor getting tested right now! How awesome is that?!

When I first started working here about two years ago everyone was sick and just kept passing it around. I did not meet all my co-workers until about 2 months into the job. So we take every precaution necessary these days. After we found out we completely sanitized EVERYTHING! I do not want to get sick plus honestly I just don't have time to be sick!

So I will not be allowing anyone to get to close or touch anything on my desk for about the next 2 months or until I know that it has cleared from the office!!

Is there anything else I can do to prevent catching it?!?

Happy Friday Eve!!

Wednesday Smorgasbord

When it is mid week you tend to lose your mind and it becomes difficult to form complete thoughts. So I have decided to to a little list of all the things I am excited about or looking forward to!

In no particular order:
  1. Baby Time! Bunny's sweet little niece will be here in two weeks as well as our office baby, Jason. He will be arriving in about four weeks!

  2. I found my Women's Running Magazine that I love but can never find a store that carries it!

  3. I looked at my syllabus and there are only two weeks left of school before midterms! So I am almost halfway through the semester!
  4. My first race of this racing season is October 9th! Only two weeks to go!
  5. I don't have time to read but I have already added two new books to the list for when this semester is over !

Happy mid-week! We are almost there!!

Hello Fall!!!

Today is the first offical day of Fall!! Oh I could not be more excited!!

Here in Memphis it is of course still a high of 93 degrees so we are not quite ready to pull out the jackets and gloves but the fashion is one of the things I am looking forward to the most! I am loving the trend of the over the knee boots. There's a fine line between street syle and streetwalker, and this look definitely straddles the two. I have googled how to wear this look tastefully and I got some good pointers for any of ya'll that also want to try this look.
  1. Don't get the ones that are half way up your thigh! Just slightly over the knee is perfect.
  2. If you are modest wear them over skinny jeans.
  3. Want to wear a skirt or dress? Choose one that is 1-3 inches above the knee. It shows just enough skin without looking like Juila Roberts in Pretty Woman.
  4. Don't wear tight skirts or dresses.
  5. Try leggings or tights under the boots with a long shirt.

Here is the look when it hit the runway:

Miss Kim Kardashian sporting the style:

So what do you think is this look a hit or miss? If ya'll say hit then I might have to go and buy some this weekend!

Are We There Yet?

Is it Friday??

I think Thursdays are the hardest days of the week. You are already tired and ready for a break but its not Friday so you know you still have another day to go. And today I am super tired!!

The middle of the week is really busy for me. Tuesday I have class and I have to leave work early so I don't take a lunch break. Then I go to class and come home and workout so that I am prepared for the half coming up. Wednesdays I do have a lunch break so at least I can have an hour off. After work I leave straight from there and go to dinner at church then Bible study and then choir which doesn't end until 8:30. When I get home I still have to run and do homework! Thursday is pretty much the same as Tuesday.

So . . . all that to say that I needed my fun Friday a little early! And I thought that some of you might need it too! So here is my early Funny Friday to wake me up a little and get me through the day!

I am sure this guy is happy that its fall and no longer flip flop season!! haha!!

Grad School Woes

I am loving school!!! I honestly think I would love to be a professional student. However, I am finding a few things about school that I am not sure I'm crazy about.

1. Grad students are annoying.

Heres a tip if you are that person in class who is asking questions because you think that makes you look smarter to the professor or the rest of the class . . . you're wrong. We just think it makes you look like you are not paying attention since the professor has gone over it already. And if you just like hearing yourself talk . . . news flash your the only one and p.s. you are dragging out class, so thanks!

2. I feel like I don't have time to run.
*I love this magazine*

I am training for the half in December for St. Jude. With class two nights a week and then church on Wednesdays and homework I feel like I'm having a hard time fitting in a run! But I do love to plan so I am sure I will figure it out.

3. No One Tree Hill

My class on Tuesday nights makes it impossible to watch the new season of One Tree Hill. I love this show and I have been waiting so long for it to return and now I can't even watch it. So to solve this problem I think I will be watching the show from Tuesday night on my lunch breaks on Wednesdays! haha!

All in all though I have a pretty easy semester, at least easier than it could have been. And I am loving it! I am so excited to continue and graduate!!

Top 2 Tuesday . . . Accomplishments

Top 2 things you want to accomplish before the end of the year

1. Run my second Half Marathon

I have registered for the St. Jude Half again this year and will be running it on December 4!! Last year my goal was to just finish and run the whole time. So the goal this year is to shave off some time. My time last year was about 2 hours and 30 mins. so this year I am going for 2 hours and 1o mins. I don't want to kill myself so I think that is a reasonable goal!

2. Be well on my way to graduating with my Masters

I have gone back to school for anyone who doesn't know. After this semester I would like to have a plan. (I love to plan things out!). I would like to know when I will graduate and have a plan of action for the classes I need to take each semester!

What do you plan to accomplish before the year is over? If you want to play along hop over to Taylor's blog.

Happy Tuesday!!

Just Another Monday

I think my weekends trick me!! They just go by too quickly!

Friday after work we had a baby shower for my co-worker, Luz and her sweet baby boy!! We have a large empty space downstairs so we set up the shower down there.

I left there and went to my watch my high school, Bolton, play Central (the school I work with through FCA and my church). It was difficult but I cheered for Central. As I sat there and watched the game and saw several of my old teachers I could not believe that it has been 7 years since I graduated high school!! My time in high school consisted of mostly cheerleading and then more cheerleading. We had tryouts in April and then did not finish the season until February with Nationals. Of course there were the formals and proms. And I did manage to squeeze in some time with my high school sweetheart. He occupied ever free minute I had for two and half years. Wasn't high school the best!!

Saturday a group of friends went out for mine and Bunny's birthday. We ate at the Beauty Shop which was okay it wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. The decor was sparse and I thought for a place that use to be a salon it would just have a little more. But it ended wonderfully! We had dessert at the cheesecake corner, which never disappoints!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Fun Friday!!

Hello Friday I have waited all week for your beautiful arrival!!

Yesterday was not too much fun I ended up leaving work around lunch because I was just not feeling good at all. But today is Friday and I am feeling much much better.

Tonight after work we are having a baby shower for a co worker and her sweet little boy that is on his way. It is a jungle theme so I will have pictures to post on Monday. This is Luz at 22 weeks. It's a little old since she is now 31 weeks.

I am also going to be enjoying a football game tonight after the shower. My high school team is playing Central (which is the team that my church hosts for FCA camp). I am so excited to see the boys again!!

And finally for fun Friday I have a little video that is super sweet.

Have a great weekend everyone!

How Is It Possible . . .

That a short week can feel so long?!?!

It is only a four day work week yet I woke up this morning wishing it was Friday!! Maybe its because my evenings have been so full.

Tuesday night was class, which I have tonight too, and then last night I had my Junior League committee meeting. It was wonderful! I am so excited about my placement this year. I will be working with Girls Inc. here in Memphis. The program we will be helping with the most is a pregnancy preventative program for girls 12-15 called Baby Think It Over. It is Friday night through Saturday afternoon. The girls are give dolls, that are super hi-tech and they have to buy everything for them and take care of them. Our committee chair was kind enough to give us ear plugs for the retreats so we don't have to hear the dolls crying all night! haha! But I am really excited I think it is going to be a lot of fun!

I have also spent a lot of time this week helping to plan my friend Janet's bachelorette party!! I think we have found something different and fun!! Have any of you tried a pole dancing class? I have heard that it is harder than you think. We have a studio here in the Memphis area that offers it as a workout class but they will also host parties, Strip to Fit. We are looking into it but I think we are going to book it this weekend! Let's just hope the Bride doesn't hurt herself before the wedding!! haha!!
Look how strong she is!! No wonder everyone is doing this as a workout!!

Happy Friday Eve!!

Top 2 Tuesday . . . Fall

Top 2 favorite things about fall

1. Football

I love football! It doesn't matter if its High School, College, or NFL. I am just so glad its back!! And nothing has made me more ready for it then the new Kenny Chesney song.

2. Hot Chocolate

I love hot chocolate year round but especially in the fall time when you are sitting outside near a bonfire!

If you would like to play along hop over to Taylor's blog.

This weekend was amazing!! I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend. I spent Saturday night celebrating with my sorority lil sis who got engaged!!!!!

Then I had a very relaxing labor day on the lake!! I'm completely burned now but it was worth it. Best part is that now I only have a four day work week! Yay!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Today is my 25th birthday!!

How cute is this cake?

I am in full out birthday mode complete with a tiara!! Seriously I'm wearing a tiara today. I only wish I could get away with that more but until Prince Harry or Prince William wants to marry me I will just settle for my birthday.

Today's plans consist of working (a little) with a lunch break to Vinegar Jim's with all the lovely ladies at work. I know what you are thinking but we work in Arlington with a limited selection of restaurants so Vinegar Jim's it is! But I really do like the food there! Also my sweet work bestie made some delicious strawberry cupcakes for dessert!

Tonight is family time I think the parents are taking me to dinner then maybe a movie of my choosing and lots of presents! Wild night I know but with it being labor day weekend so many people are going out of town so I think the Bunny and I are having a joint party next weekend.

And of course we can't forget that this is a three day weekend!! I love how every year the government likes to give me a day off work or school to celebrate! haha! So I think on Monday I am going to have a pamper day with a massage maybe a mani/pedi and top it all off by laying by the pool! Ahhhh! I'm so relaxed just thinking about it!

Now for Funny Friday:
The girls at work were amazed that I had not seen this yet! It is an actual new interview from Alabama!

And of course it needs to be made into an auto tune!! haha!!

Happy Friday I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend!!
