Me and Lady J

Hooray it's Friday!!!

This weekend I am getting a mini vacation. I am house sitting for a family and staying with their sweet puppy Lady J.

House sitting is the best in my opinion. You get away and most of the places I stay are really nice! They usually have a workout room, theater room, tanning bed and they all insist that you take full advantage of any and everything. Its kind of like a vacation but without the long drive.

So I am looking forward to relaxing this last weekend before classes start on Tuesday!

49 out of 50?!

So today on the radio I heard that there is currently snow in 49 states!! Thats crazy!

We still have a inch or two left from this weekends snow storm. In Memphis we don't get a lot of snow so after two or three little snow days, little meaning about 3 inches, I have had my winter fix and I am ready for dresses, cute strappy shoes (complete with a pedicure) and bikinis!

Speaking of dresses:

This spring I will be in two of my friends weddings. One in April and the other is in May. Saturday I went shopping with my Momma!! I got my bridesmaid dress for Kim's wedding. It is very classic. The color is going to be Cobalt Blue, Go Tigers!!

I also bought the dress to wear to her rehersal dinner. I forgot to take a picture of it and I can't find it online but I am sure I will post a picture of it before April.

As we were walking out of the mall I remembered that there was a dress that I had my eye on since Thanksgiving!! I was desperately trying to wait it out to see if it would go on sale. Don't you just love playing chicken with the retail stores?! ha! Of course it still wasn't on sale but they only had one left in my size so I caved and bought it. I have no idea what I am going to wear it to yet, but I am sure I will find something but I just couldn't pass it up!!

I hope everyone in the 49 snowy states is staying warm!!

Just Supporting the Conference

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to have a snow day! For a little bit I thought that I would have to come into work but luckily at the last minute we got the call that work was closed!! So this now makes the fourth week in a row that I have only worked four days!!

I lounged around in jammies all day and read a ton. But I was a little productive and did jump on the treadmill for a while ... I do still have to run the half in Nashville so I can't skip out on training!

I also stayed up to watch the entire BCS Bowl last night! I was getting a little worried there for a second but Auburn managed to pull it out. It is so hard cheering for a team that you usually do not like just to support the conference. I've never really been a Cam Newton fan but I do give him kudos for his interview afterwards!

Keep Runnin' and Runnin'

I have signed up for the Music City Half Marathon on April 30th!!

The only half I have ever ran was the St. Jude here in Memphis. With all the hills in Nashville its going to be a little different so I am switching up my training a little. I usually run 4 days a week and cross traing twice a week with one rest day. My cross trainings were Yoga and Step Class. I love step class but it is really cardio focused and I feel like I would benefit more from some strength training and bulid up some muscle so I can take on those hills!

I am still keeping Yoga because after all the running and strength training I need a good day of just relaxing and streching! For my strength training I have decided on a workout called Pure Barre. I first learned about this before the last half and bought a dvd of it. Then the Junior League hosted an event and I figured I would try it out ... I mean a free new workout hello!! I didn't think it would be hard but I was wrong!! It is great for toning!!

They say after 10 classes you can see a dramatic difference in your body. During the course of my training I will be taking 9 classes so I will probably take a before and after shot and post them when the training is complete and see if there really is a difference.

Is there any workout that you love and think I need to look into?

If anyone is intrested in what my training schedule looks like or would like the beginners schedule I used last time email me and I would be happy to send it to you!

Happy Blogoversary!!!

My blog is one year old today!!

Around Christmas of last year my work bestie, Candice, started telling me that I needed to Blog. I fought her for about it for a few weeks. My excuse was that I had no idea what I would write about and who would ever care to read my blog?!

But a year later I have written 198 posts and I have 73 beautiful followers! So thank you to everyone who cares to read my blog and for all the sweet comments!!

Not only have I blogged and have my favorites that I have to read everyday but I feel like I have made several sweet friends. In the Memphis area several of us get together every month or so for dinner and get to know the people who's blogs we all follow. We actually had a dinner last night. It was so much fun and I encourage everyone to start something like that in your area.

Thanks again for such a fun year!! Many more post to come!!

NYE in the Big D!!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend. As you know I went to Dallas to spend some quality time with Sarah. And we had a blast!!

The first day Bunny, Mickey and I slept in from the long drive and went to see the Cowboys stadium while Sarah worked for a few hours. This stadium was insanely huge. We had such a good time playing in the pro shop.
Of course that night was NYE so we headed downtown for the countdown and fireworks, which I am crazy about! We had a little trouble getting down there. There was a cab strike so we ended up getting a limo for about $60!
Sorry girls this is the only picture of the back of the dress :(

New Years Day we went shopping at the Galleria Mall in Dallas. They have two of my favorite things there: Jimmy Choo and Tiffany's!!!

This mall was huge!

At night was went to downtown Fort Worth to the world's largest honky tonk, Billy Bob's. They had some great country music and a ton of people dancing. I learned the Texas Two Step and then I saw this group that was amazingly good. They had the girls twirling and dipping all over the place. So I went up told them how great they were and asked if they would mind teaching me. It took the girls about an hour to get me off the dance floor once I learned! haha!
Mickey (aka our photographer) wanted a dance party picture! ha!
It was such a wonderful time that I took yesterday off from work to be lazy and recuperate!!

Happy New Year!!
