Up and Coming!!

I recently heard some songs from these two new groups and I am completely in love!!

  1. The Band Perry-All Your Life

I love this group!! Of course we have all heard their song "If I Die Young" but this is the newest song from them and I think its amazing!! The Perry siblings began singing as children in Alabama. Kimberly Perry sang in her own band as a teenager with her brothers Neil and Reid working as roadies. At the ages of 8 and 10 years old, the brothers began performing as an opening act, the Mobile Music Machines, for Kimberly. Once the three siblings had united to form The Band Perry, they joined a New Faces of Country tour in 2005. In 2008, The Band Perry was discovered by Garth Brooks manager Bob Doyle, who helped them make recordings. The recordings were sent to Scott Borchetta, head of the newly-established Republic Nashville label. The band signed to Republic Nashville in August 2009.

2. Thompson Square- Kiss Me or Not

This is currently my ringtone since I love it so much! Husband and wife Keifer and Shawna Thompson formed Thompson Square as a duo in 2002 after previously seeking solo careers. Keifer was raised in Miami, Okla., where he listened to classic country, punk rock and heavy metal before gravitating toward singer-songwriters such as Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty. Shawna grew up in Chatom, Ala., a small town near the Mississippi state line, and learned traditional country songs from her guitar-playing father while taking a particular interest in the music of Reba McEntire and Alabama. Keifer and Shawna moved to Nashville within the same week and met at a singing competition a few days later. In 2009, Thompson Square signed with Stoney Creek Records, a sister label of Nashville-based Broken Bow Records. In 2010, they released their first single for the label, "Let's Fight," and followed it up with "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not."

Every summer the country station here in Memphis host a free concerts weekly for about 8 weeks. I am crossing my fingers that they can get these new artists to come and play!!

Insert Clever Blog Title Here!

Today I walked into work and immediately felt sad for two reasons. One my work bestie, Candice, has the day off. And then I noticed that my beautiful flowers from Valentine's Day are starting to wilt!

However, on a positive note I had a wonderful weekend. I just got new hardwood floors in my closet so I had to completely empty it out and thought that would be a great time to go through it and clean it up a bit. I managed to donate about 10 dresses, 10 pants, and 83 tops to the Junior League of Memphis' Repeat Boutique. It was insane to realize that I had that much to give away!!

Saturday morning Mr. PPS and I went for a little 3 mile run and a friendly competition of who could complete it first. The winner got to pick the activity for the night. Since I won, pretty sure he let me, I picked dinner and then the Reese Witherspoon movie "How Do You Know". I didn't get to see it when it first came out so now that I had waited so long it is playing at the discount theater for $2.50!

Sunday I had a date night with my Daddy since Mom had left to drive to Middle TN to be with Sissy for another ultra sound of our little Pumpkin! We rented Social Networking of OnDemand. It was really interesting and Daddy really liked!

Now it is time for a Pumpkin update!!
After her ultra sound last week we found out that we were off a little from when she got pregnant and Pumpkin will be here on Oct 9th instead of the 7th. Yesterday Pumpkin was 7 weeks in the oven!! This week hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs. Pumpkin has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry! I can't wait to be a Aunt to this sweet little baby!

How was your weekend?

I Just Want To Dance!!

This was a statement made by one of my co-workers this morning! Let me explain ...

We have a Wii in our break room at the office. The other day our bosses little girls came over and left their Just Dance 2 game in the Wii. Well we discovered it last week and since then several of us have started playing in during lunch.

Candice and I usually go somewhere for lunch, you know like Target. But Wednesday we came back a little early and found out that there were these lunch dance parties. So I took a quick turn and almost immediately became addicted. Yesterday we even planned on staying for the purpose of playing. I think I did 6 or 7 songs in a row! I am officially hooked! Plus after about 4 dances you work up a little sweat. So its not just fun but also a workout on your lunch break.

I know I am so behind and everyone has already heard of this game, obviously since this is the second one out. But I am so excited about playing again sometime next week.

Is anyone else addicted to this game?

What I'm Loving Wednesday: Grammy Edition

With Valentine's Day being on Monday I haven't been able to talk about the Grammy's from Sunday night.

So I decided to do a Grammy Edition of What I'm Loving Wednesday!

1. I am loving Selena Gomez's dress.

She looks beautiful and age appropriate. Plus look at her amazing shoes!!

2. I am loving Usher and Justin Bieber's performance.

I have loved Usher since I was probably about 12. He is always amazing! And precious little Bieber ... oh if i was 12 now I would love him!! He is just a doll!

3. I am loving Julianne Hough's dress.

4. I am loving Rihanna's performance.

5. I am loving the most Eminem's performance.

It is so good to see Eminem back on stage and making music! I think I have about 5 of his new songs on my IPOD for running!

One thing I was definitely NOT loving ... Lady Gaga!! Girl showed up in an egg?! There are no words for her craziness!!

What did you love about the Grammys?

Downhill From Here

After the wonderful day I had yesterday this week can only go downhill. I mean how can anything top my day yesterday?

Mr. PPS did an amazing job and had me surprised all day! I first got roses delivered right before lunch, and they are beautiful!!

Then when I came back after lunch he had snuck over to my office and left the rest of my Valentine's Day.

There was a card and sour worms. He also bought me the Twilight movie because he could not believe that I love it so much and don't own any of the movies. He put a little twist on it though and made a back cover that said "Laura loves Team Jacob" and then on the inside a list of reasons why I love Jacob. By the way I am NOT team Jacob I am so team Edward!! But Mr. PPS thinks that Jacob is by far the better choice since he never left Bella, he just doesn't get it! The Giving Tree was his favorite book growing up and I mentioned that I had never read it so that was also on my desk.

Beside the amazing job he did on making me feel special my Sissy and Will got to see this sweet thing!!

They also got to hear the heartbeat but when she attempted to record it for me it was too soft to pick anything up. Since they had some trouble getting pregnant she goes every week of her first trimester for an ultrasound so I'm hoping little Pumpkin will be beating a little louder next time!!

After all of that I know the rest of my week is just not going to be able to compare! But I do have my Pumpkin's pictures up and my roses are still on my desk and those will help me through the rest of the week!

It's All Hearts!!

Today is all about hearts for me. Okay actually this weekend has been all about hearts for me.

I spent most of my time with Mr. PPS that I first blogged about here. We had dinner and then ice cream on Thursday night, went to the Grizzlies game on Friday night and Saturday was staying in a watching movies (my pick was of course Sleepless in Seattle and his was Despicable Me). It was a pretty perfect weekend ;)

Today, aside from being Valentine's Day, is the day that we will hear little Pumpkin's heartbeat!! Sissy is 6 weeks and 4 days so its a little early but I am crossing my fingers that we will be able to hear it! I made Sissy and Will promise me that they will call me if they can and if not they are going to record it and play it for me after their appointment. I couldn't think of anything I would rather have for Valentine's Day then to hear that sweet little heart!

I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine's!!
