My New Purchase!!

This weekend was very successful! I wasn't planning on it but I found and bought a car Saturday.

We had seen this car last weekend at it was a great deal! The car is an 08 and only had 15K miles on it. But ... it was still a little out of my price range. We went by just to look at it again and to see what they would offer us. After a few hours of test driving, haggling and what I thought was the end we officially bought it!

I traded in my sweet little sunfire that had been so good to me the past 10 years. It was a little sad to leave my first car sitting there at the dealership but I could not be more happy with my new Mercury Mariner sitting in my driveway right now!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Today I'm Loving ...

1. I have finished another semester of grad school and got a 4.0!!

2. I was one of "those" people last night and went downtown to look at the river and the flooding!

3. Sissy and Will celebrated their anniversary yesterday!!

4. This INC dress for $90 at Macys!!

** I am also crossing my fingers that this beautiful girl will make it home this weekend from TX for BBQ Fest!!

Dressed for Memphis Flooding

Well the Mississippi River crested early this morning!! Now it will be a few weeks of receding and then clean up. We have been blessed and not had any flooding out in the suburbs but if we did then I was ready because one of the two swimsuits I ordered came in last night!

If you watched the Today show this morning Memphis was on it! Al Roker was hanging out this morning in the flooding. Trust me downtown is pretty bad and out around Millington but most parts of the city are fine ... they just don't cover that cause it doesn't make good news.

Flooding seemed to be the topic this morning because on the "What ya doing at 201" segment this morning they asked a man about his thoughts on the flooding and Bin Laden. I love this part of the radio show!! If you missed where I have talked about it before 201 is our jailhouse downtown and we always get ... interesting people there!

Lets hope some of this sunshine and 90 degree weather clears up the flooding quickly!!

That is pretty much how my weekend felt!!

Do you remember the days back in school when the first weekend of the summer seemed like it was the best? Well that was this weekend for me! For starters the weather was perfect. I ran in the Junior League 5k and finished in 29:40, which isn't bad for having ran a half the weekend before. Then I had a date night with Lauren where we went to dinner, to see Something Borrowed (which was AMAZING) and then my newest obsession ... Yogurt Mountain!

Sunday was of course all about my Momma! We went to church then lunch and finally opened gifts. While we were out for dinner we talked about my Daddy's new phone and I suggested that we go check out the i phones, cause I still have not jumped on the bandwagon and gotten one. After I about stroked for how much it would cost a month (about $90 plus tax when I currently pay $40) my sweet parents brought up a suggestion ...

I have had my little car for 10 years and it has been great! We bought is brand new a few months before I turned 16 and it has never had any major problems but now with 112000 miles and the fact that it looks like a teenie bopper car I have thought about getting a new one.

My first day to drive my car to school ... Mom is in the passenger seat cause I wasn't 16 yet :(

I wanted a car that made me look like a secret agent but now I need something that I don't have to ask my friends to crawl over the seats to get in! haha!

Since I am paying for school and not taking out loans finances haven't allowed me to make this purchase. So they suggested that we look at some used cars and see if we could possibly split the car note until I finish school this year!! Which I think seems far and it deserved cause I made another 4.o semester!!!

So does anyone know of a place with some good deals?

Can I Borrow Your Fiancé?

That's right tomorrow night I will be seeing this wonderful cast in a movie that I have been waiting to see since I first heard that they were filming it!

I'm sure most of you have read Something Borrowed and if not then you must buy and read it TONIGHT!!! I lent my copy to a friend of mine to re-read it before we see the movie tomorrow and just got it back from her Wednesday night ... I'm already slightly over half way and wondering why it's been so long since I picked it up to read.

Not only will this weekend be wonderful because of the movie but I will be running in the Junior League 5K to help raise money about childhood obesity! If you haven't signed up yet there is still time, just go to the Junior League's website!

Hello May ...

I sure hope you bring me some pretty flowers!! With all the rain we have had lately I am very excited to turn the calendar and see the word May!!

This month brings me some much needed rest before my summer classes start up. It brings pretty flowers and great weather, the marriage of two of my favorite people, the summer movies at the Orpheum start up and Kix on beale is just around the corner.

I am hopeful that with all the tornadoes and winds that have recently been blowing through that it will bring some much needed changes for me as well!

This weekend was amazing!! I ran in the Music City Half Marathon and I had decided that I would be happy if I completed it in at least 2:4o. I added sometime to the last half that I ran because this one had so many hills I knew that I would not run it as fast. Well to my surprise I ended up finishing in 2:23!! Which is my personal best time! I guess I was a little more prepared then I thought!

While in the Nashville area I got to catch up with some friends that live there. Momma and I also eat lunch at the Homestead Manor! It is a great tea room and if you are in the Nashville area then you have to go there!! When it was time to leave and come home I almost just stayed! I love Nashville and can't wait to be there permanently.
