Wishful Wednesday . . . Throw Away

'I wish' .... I hadn't thrown away Living In Nashville!!

It is kind of funny that this is the topic. I stumbled across a few friends of mine on facebook that I went to high school with during my time in Nashville. And I actually thought about it this past weekend.

We moved to Nashville when I was 15. It was the summer before I started my Sophomore year. I really loved Franklin! But we moved in the middle of high school and cheerleading was huge to me. I had cheered competitively since I was four so we were a little disappointed in the program there. After about six weeks into the school year we moved back to Memphis.

I have amazing friends here in Memphis and I love it here! But my Sissy and Brother in law are trying to have a baby and I would love to be closer to them when they do have a little bundle of joy. If I was still in the Nashville area I would only be about an hour away from them instead of four hours.

Lately I just wonder what it would have been like to have stayed in Nashville. Where would I have gone to college? Most of my friends went to University of Tennessee or Middle Tennessee State University. Would I have stayed friends with them? Would I have continued to cheer and if so would I have cheered in college?

But I know I would have stayed around the Nashville area and that means that I would have been close to Sissy and Will and the new baby that will hopefully be joining us in the next year or so!!

Top Two . . . Dream Home

I have never participated in Top Tuesday but today I saw the topic and loved it!

My top two dream houses would be

1. Of course a beach house in Destin FL. Big enough for the whole family kids and all!!
   
   
2. I love a French Country house. This would be my dream home! It is beautiful!
   
   

I would love to have the French Country look continued inside!!

2 Years And Counting

May 10th 2008 was an amazing day! On that day I got the best brother I could have ever asked for! However, if you ask my sister she would say that day marks when she got the best husband in the world! haha!

Yes two years ago today Sissy and Will were getting married! I can't believe it has been two years! I am so excited for them. They are still crazy in love and still ever so perfect for each other. I tell everyone that if my husband ends up being half the man my brother in law is I will be one lucky girl (if you haven't noticed I adore my brother).

So Happy Anniversary I love you both!!

This weekend was very busy! On Friday night I judged cheerleading try outs for a team that one of my sorority sisters coach. Then Saturday morning I was at the first annual 5k for the Junior League. We had 600 runners, which is amazing for our first year! I also had lunch with my super awesome brother in law since he and Sissy were in town. Later I met up with a high school friend who was in town, Savannah!

Sunday was of course Mother's Day! I have the best Momma. She loves me more than anyone else I know and I am so blessed to have her as my Mom.

I Need Some Beach!!

Dear Friday, I am so happy to see you!!!

The only thing that could be better than Friday is Friday on the Beach! I have been craving some family time in Destin! Sadly I am not sure if a family beach trip is going to happen this year for a couple of reasons. So I have decided to tell everyone at work to leave me alone and I am going to put my feet up on the desk, put my sunglasses on and pretend the florescent lights are the sun. haha! How sad is that?

Well maybe soon everything will slow down enough for me to at least lay out near a pool here in sweet Memphis. Or maybe I will resort back to running threw the sprinklers like I did when I was 5.

I Don't Want To Grow-Up . . . I Want To Be A Kid

I have found this radio station a couple of weeks ago. It's 98.9 and it is called Generation X. I am in love!

They play the best music. Its everything from Spice Girls to Will Smith, fresh prince days, and then with a little New Kids on the Block thrown in! I have even gotten my office to listen to it, we are all Genteration X. My car radio has not changed in about two weeks. I love listening to it because it makes me feel like I am in High School again!

This made me begin to think about all the good shows that use to be on when I was little! The shows now a days can't even compare!! Here are some of my favorites that I miss!

And of course we can't forget this one!!

My Mama D

Today is usually full of fun and an excuse for Americans to eat a lot of Mexican food. My office is having a Cinco de Mayo themed potluck. But today with all the fun I also think a lot about my Mama D (my grandmother).

No her name did not start with a D. She wanted us to call her Big Mama, which my Daddy refused because he didn't think it was respectful sounding. So she was going to be called G Mama for Grand Mama. However, when Sissy came along it came out Mama D.

My Mama D went home to be with the Lord on May 5th 2002. I miss her everyday! She was always my biggest supporter no matter what. I loved when I got to go and spend the summer with her and I loved more than anything when she came to live with us in 1996!

D was there for a lot of huge milestones in my life and I cherish that fact. She even picked out my high school sweetheart right out of the football program! Haha! I remember her looking through it to see my cheerleading picture and seeing him. She turned to me and said "Oh Laura he is a handsome young man and you should date him!". I laughed and told her that I had no idea who he was to which her reply was that I should find out! haha! Little did I know that I would meet him about a month later and date him for the next two and a half years!

But that was my D! She always said until your married your are single, something that my grandfather did not agree with! But they had an amazing marriage and I hope to one day have one just like theirs. My grandfather went to the Lord 10 years earlier and she missed him terribly so when her time came I know she was ready to go and be with him again.

I miss my Mama D everyday but I like to take this day to spend some extra time remembering her!

Wishful Wednesday . . . Language

'I wish' .... I was fluent in another language in addition to English, and it would be French!

With today being Cinco de Mayo it would be appropiate to say Spanish, but I would pick French. I took three years of honors Spanish in high school so even though I would not say that I am fluent, by far, I would love to learn a different language.

Why French? I want to travel to Paris someday so I think it would be very helpful to be fluent. I also think that French is a beautiful language.
