We made it!! I am so happy to see Friday again!!
This morning all the girls at work decided that we needed a little pick me up. So we pitched in and bought some coffee, hot chocolate for me, and doughnuts! Doesn't it look delicious? It was exactly what I needed!
Last night I had another little happy. I went to a sporting goods store and bought some new running clothes for the race I am running this weekend. It is the Ashley Scott 5K. Her favorite color was pink so I got some cute new pink running gear and an extra little surprise but you will have to wait until Mondays post to see the pictures!
Here is Ashley's story.
Ashley Scott, a native of Bossier City, Louisiana, and a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University, began teaching at Bolton High School in 2003 where she quickly won respect and admiration as an effective and creative English teacher.
She was found beaten to death on Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2006,. Her husband Jeffrey Scott was convicted and sentenced to 25 years in prison. The 5K raises funds for domestic violence victims programs in Shelby County.
If your interested you can register the day of the race from 6:45 am to 7:45 am or download the entry form.
If any of you live in the Memphis Area I would love to see you Saturday morning running along with me!!
Hope you all have a great weekend!
that looks like a perfect friday morning snack..especially the coffee, or hot chocolate, i'm having some right now actually. yum!
ReplyDeletehope the 5k goes well and lots of money is raised because that is definitely an issue that neeeeeds the awareness. two weekends ago my church did a "servolution sunday" and my group passed out lunches to the homeless downtown. we ended up having some extras so we took them to the battered woman's shelter...it was such an eye opening experience to see the women who had obvious physical signs of beating. so sad.
Oh, I wish I would have known this was going on THIS weekend. Good luck and it's definitely for a GREAT cause!!!
