. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

I Could Be Happy In Denver

This weekend was very relaxed and I soaked in every minute of it!

Friday night Bunny and I went running since we are in full training mode for the Half in December. As we were walking into the gym, it was just to hot to run outside, we notice that the parking lot was pretty empty. Then we realized duh because everyone else has a social life and is not at the gym on a Friday night. We began to fell like losers but Bunny said that we were just dedicated runners in training. I think she can get away with this because she had a date the night before; however, I don't have an excuse.

That's right Bunny had a date Thursday night. I am pretty sure her and this new someone are a little smitten with each other and I am so excited for her!!

Saturday I got to see Savannah and have breakfast with her while she was in town. I always love it when I get to see her!! She cracks me up the whole time. Later that afternoon I had a wedding to attend which was very sweet! The best part was the singer that they had at the reception, he was incredible!

Sunday was Church and then more running but I made sure that I was done in time to watch my sexy Timmy play in his first preseason game! I had to wait all the way until the fourth quarter for them to put him in! No offense to Brady Quinn but he was not playing well and they should have put Tim in long before!! But I did finally get to see him and watch him make his first NFL touchdown, which he ran in himself!! And thank goodness he had his hair fixed in time for the game!
Oh I would move to Denver for this boy, I could be happy in Denver! haha!

When You Wish Upon A Star!

This morning we were having our daily huddle meeting time (not work related just catching up with the amazing girls I work with). We began talking about upcoming vacations and places that we are going, what to go and have been before.

My dream come true would be to spend the night in Cinderella's Castle!! To say that I love Cinderella would probably be an understatement. She has always been my choice of the Disney princesses.

And look how incredible this place is . . .

The only problem is you have to win a night in the castle. The computer will select a random time and location to select the winner. For example, the 7th person to go through the turnstile at 2:03 pm at Space Mountain. So this makes it a little difficult to attain the goal!!

But if I ever did win . . . HOLY COW I WOULD FREAK OUT!! Maybe it could happen if I wish upon a star?!

Who Would Have Thought . . .

My Mom always says that kindness gets you a long way but who would have thought it could go this far? This morning it proved true. I was driving to work when I got pulled over.

Police Officer: (writing up my ticket and finally walks to my window) "How are you today?"
Me: "Fine thanks. How are you?"
Police Officer: (looking surprised) "You are the fist person to ask me how I am!"
Me: "Really?"
Police Officer: "Yea most people are angry and either don't answer or will just cuss me."
Me: "That's just unnecessary. There is no need to be rude."
Police Officer: "I knew I wanted to write you a warning!" (rips up the ticket, writes a warning and send me on my way)

** The lesson always be nice sometimes that is all someone else needs**

I was extra excited when I got to work because of two little happies!

1. The new Nicholas Sparks book will be release September 14. I usually keep up with his release dates but I have been so busy that I didn't even realize that it was coming up until I got an email about it this morning! I love this books and I can not wait to get this one!!

2. I saw this video this weekend and I had to share it with ya'll. Everyone knows of my admiration/love/slight obsessiveness about Tim Tebow. So I think I might need to step my game up because I have more competition then I thought.

Side note even with his "initiation haircut" I still love him and would take him!! haha!!

Only 116 To Go . . .

That is the number of days until the St. Jude Half Marathon!!

Today marks the first day of our training!! Tonight is just cross training so we will be working on leg weights and going to step class. If you read my blog on Friday then you know about the two books I am reading to help me train better this time!

I am reading through the food guide right now and hoping to have a nutrition schedule made up by the end of the week. I have some basic ideas but does anyone have a good website that would have an example schedule?

I loved running this race last year!! I am pretty sure I cried the whole time. Well except for the end when I was just so excited to be finishing.

If anyone is interested in running then check out St. Jude's Marathon Site!

I Hope I Don't Sink?!

The usual saying is that the Holidays are the busiest time of the year; however, I think this fall is going to be the busiest for me!!

I am more than ready for some college football, hot tea or cider, new fall tv shows, and of course some cooler weather!! But I am not sure I am ready for everything else that I have coming this fall.

The biggest news of all for this fall is that I am going back to school. Yep that's right I am going to get my masters!! I will be going to class every Tuesday and Thursday night. On top of school I will still be working full time. I will still be heavily involved in the Junior League. And I will be training to run in the St. Jude half marathon again.

Whew! I'm exhausted just writing it all out. haha!!

I am starting my training schedule this Monday. The cross training on Mondays I am doing leg weights and step class. For the cross training on Thursdays I am switching between two videos, one is yogalosophy which is the workout Jennifer Anniston does and the bar method which is Kelly Ripas workout.

The last time we ran it we did not train very well, we just kinda ran a couple of times a week, so this time we have a schedule and I am reading these two books to help me. Has anyone read these? Are they helpful?

Hopefully with everything I have going on between now and December I will be able to keep my head above water and not sink!

Top 2 Tuesday . . . Simply Pleasures

1. Books

I love to read and I constantly have a stack of books by my bed. I love Emilie Lorring book. She wrote in 1920-1960. They are love story mysteries.

I just finished Emily Giffin's Heart of the Matter and I am currently reading Jane Austen's Mansfield Park.

2. Old Movies
To me there is nothing as fun as curling up in bed and watching and old Cary Grant or Katherine Hepburn movie.

What are your simply pleasures? To play along hop over to The Undomestic Momma.

Unleashed

Unleashed was the theme for this exhausting yet amazing weekend!! I left work early on Thursday and took off Friday to spend the weekend up at The Grove (the old camp cordova) and ministered to a group of 150 inner city high school football players.

I look forward to this every year. My mom and I have helped out with FCA camp since my church first participated four years ago. We had the blessing of hosting Central High School each year and with the new accommodations at The Grove we were able to add Douglass High School to this blessing.

These boys just love to be loved on so that is what Mom and I are there for. We serve them at each meal time, which is a task to feed 150 hungry high school football players! And we get them anything that they need. We have several boys that do not have things at home to bring an others that just simply forget a towel, blanket, pillow, and toiletries.

I love to spend time with these amazing young men. This year we had 48 decisions for Christ which is amazing!! I am looking forward to seeing these teams throughout the year as we continue to feed them before games and as the small group leaders from this week go out there to lead some bible studies during practices.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures of the boys singing and worshiping, praying and playing football this weekend.
