. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

Stepping On Toes

Alright everyone pull your feet up under you cause I am sure that I am about to step all over some people's toes ...

There has been a video that has gained a lot of popularity lately and been passed around on Facebook like crazy. It is from a gentleman who talks about why he "Hates Religion but Loves Jesus". Let me first say that I completely agree when he talks about having a relationship with Christ! Those who just go to church but do not know our wonderful Lord a Savior are lost! But my agreement stops there!

I am so afraid for my generation! We seem to want so badly to embrace loving everyone that we are not helping anyone be accountable for their actions or sins. I hate that he bashes the church and makes it sound like everyone who attends church is fake and only going through the motions to put on a front. If you are going to love Jesus then you have to read his word. The church is important, it is to be a symbol of God and his sweet grace. Christ loved the church and died for it!

Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

Rom 155May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of 'unity' among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, 6so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 4:11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. 14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming. 15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. 16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work

See the church is meant to strengthen the believers. To give you a place where you can come together and to encourage one another. This beauty of the church is to work as the body of Christ for the Glory of His kingdom!

If everyone begins to "hate religion" then does anyone believe in God's word anymore? Will we all become people who just love Jesus but pick and choose what scriptures we want to live by? Will churches no longer exist? Will we all live in our sin but rationalize that its okay because we love Jesus, even when we don't show it with our lives?

The majority of people don't like religion because it tells them what they can't do and how they shouldn't behave. Those are the people who are not ready to make a change and follow Jesus completely! If you love Jesus so much then you would want to please Him with your life. You would want to bring Glory to Him in all that you do. You would want to be around other believers that can encourage and hold you accountable. But if you just want to feel good about yourself and then you don't understand what loving Jesus really means.
Our church is in danger!

Top Two Tuesday

Sirius radio was kind enough to give me a free subscription for 3 months. I am one of those people who just doesn't understand paying for radio. Why would I do that when I have a perfectly good free radio and an iPhone that plugs in to my car?
However, with that said I have very much enjoyed the "teaser"! Which brings me to the Top Two favorite radio stations ...
1. Elvis- I know I live in Memphis and it is a little cliche but I just love Elvis!
2. 80's on 8- Who doesn't love the big hair and side ponytails? This station always make me want to have a dance party!!
What are your favorite stations?

Week 1 Down

I officially finished by first week of student teaching! Only 15 more to go haha!! I loved everything about it. I begin actually teaching this week so everyone please say a prayer for me. I also have to assess them on a project, so if anyone has some suggestions on a geometry project for 6th graders I'd love to hear it.

This week I have also started training again. I am planning on running in the Nashville half, which I did last year. I am tickled pink that they now are supporting St. Jude! Makes running even better. Few of you have asked what training I do ... now that I can run long distances pretty easy I have backed off running so much and have begun to add in a lot of cross training and weight work. Below is a little break down

Mon: Boot Camp
Tue: Short run, about 3 or 4 miles, and weights
Wed: Rest
Thur: Spin Class
Fri: Boot Camp and weights
Sat: Long run
Sun: Sprints to increase speed and weights

Good luck for all of y'all that are working on your New Year's running resolutions!

Over a Million

I finally joined the rest of yall in this century and got an iPhone for Christmas! I am completely in love with it!

However, there are so many apps that I feel a little overwhelmed. So far I have downloaded the basics; Facebook, Shazam, Pinterest, the Bible, and First TN Bank. I have also looked for a workout app and a friend recommended Jefit. It's pretty good, it allows you to download routines and gives you different workouts depending on what body part you are working. I love to run but I am also starting to add in weights to my workout. Does anyone use a different workout app? Or have any suggestions for other apps that they just love?

2012 A Year of Changes

Hello everyone who has probably forgotten me haha!
In case you don't remember I use to blog regularly and now I'm back!! The last blog was early October and from then until now things in my life became extremely busy!! I was finishing my last semester of coursework for my masters before student teaching, working full time, was an advisor for my sorority, had Junior League commitments, and the most exciting news was that my sister gave me the most precious little nephew!!!
I recently left my job so that I could student teach, starting Wednesday, and with that I'm hoping a little extra time will come my way and I can begin blogging again! It is so crazy how long its been and how much I have missed it. Not only will some free time hopefully enter my world but with the ringing in of the New Year I began to realize just how much is going to change for me and how I would love to make sure I was blogging about it. This year I will have a complete career change to teaching, hopefully be moving to a new city and starting a whole new life there!! Gosh even just typing it I am full of excitement and nervous energy!!
So what I have been doing since the last time I blogged ...
There was Halloween.
Thanksgiving with my sweet little nephew B.
B's baby dedication at church!
The St. Jude Marathon, for the 3rd time.
My last work Christmas party :(
Christmas in middle Tennessee with the Kimmers,
and of course ringing in the New Year with some of the sweetest friends!
