. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

S.A.G. Fashion

This weekend was so productive! I started running again since I feel better and I had a ton of homework which all got done. I feel super accomplished and ready for the week ahead.

While running a doing all my homework I did manage to catch some of the S.A.G. Awards fashion. I love watching E's Live from the Red Carpet! Here are some of my favorites!

Mila Kunis
She always picks colors that look great on her!

Christina Hendricks
This was different and I LOVED it!
Kyra Sedgwick

Natalie Portman
Much better than her Golden Globe dress

Tina Fey
Which are your favorites?

I'm Back to Normal Clothes Again!

Yes this is exciting news. I have been feeling awful the last few days. Maybe its because here in the wonderful south we go from a weekend of snow to a weekend of 60 degrees, seriously I'm not making this up. So the last few days I have been pumping my body fully of Advil cold & sinus and vitamin water. Looks like it is paying off because I finally am starting to feel better! Meaning I am in normal clothes again!!!

I work at a place that doesn't have a strict dress code. Okay we don't have any kind of dress code so I have been in t-shirts a jeans for the past three days. This has concerned my co-workers that I am on my death bed. I love clothes, I love to look cute and I save my t-shirts for the gym. You can only imagine the looks I got a work when it had been three days! I didn't let myself completely go I did manage to wear my make-up everyday and do my hair :)

Since I am feeling like myself again and not just working on auto pilot this means that my little week of hiatus from training is over. I have to jump back on the program, the Nashville Half Marathon is quickly approaching. I went last night to sweat out the last of my sickness at Pure Barre. I have blogged about it before and how much I am looking forward to using it as my cross training on my training schedule. I seemed to have forgotten how difficult it is :( I was hurting last night. But this morning I feel great, a little sore but the good kind where it will wear off soon but you know that you got a great work out!

So this weekend will be spent catching up on my training and enjoy the 58, yes that right, degree weather we are suppose to have. Part of me thinks I might need to lay out this weekend and get a little sun before our next snow storm that's coming ha!!

I'm Still a Teeny Bopper

Yes this is true. I am 25 but I still love the high school teen movies and I think Justin Bieber is precious. If I was 12 I would have a little crush on him too!

This morning at work we were talking about all the things we loved when we were younger. I was a huge boy band groupie! It all started with New Kids on the Block. I was a Joey fan and my older sister was in love with Jordan. We had the sleepwear, lunchboxes, all the cassette tapes (ha remember those), and even the dolls. From there I jumped on the Backstreet Boys wagon. I know I am going to upset all the NSYNC fans but don't worry I liked them too its just that I was die hard Backstreet Boys.

I have been hearing for a while now about how these two groups are going to be touring together this summer. With all the talk about them this morning I had to check and see if they would be coming anywhere near me ... and they are! They will be in Nashville June 21st. I have already texted my Sissy to inform her to get her leg warmers and side ponytail ready because we are going!

I am so excited and not even the least bit ashamed! Am I the only one?

All Kinds of Showers

We have gotten more snow showers here in the south. I remember when I was a kid how I used to pray for snow and we would never get any. We might get some ice but never any snow. In the last few years it seems like we have 5 or 6 snow days a year, lucky kids!!

With the recent snow showers it made me start thinking of other showers ... wedding showers. If you have read my blog lately then you know I have two weddings coming up soon. The bachelorette parties have been booked and the dresses have been ordered so now we are at the stage of planning some showers.

Anna is wanting a co-ed shower. She has decided that a theme would make Ben's friends more excited to come. She thinks a theme like a sorority/frat mixers theme would be the most fun. Some examples she came up with were White Trash Wedding or Tackey Prom. If you have any ideas please let me know!!

Hope everyone is staying warm!

7 Down and 20 To Go

... and I can be the girl from 27 Dresses!

This weekend I spent sometime with my amazing sorority sister, actually she is my Lil Sis. We had lunch at her grandmothers restaurant, Sliver Caboose, and then we went and I got measured for my bridesmaid dress.

I had such a wonderful time spending the day with her. She has been a little busy since her wedding is coming up in about 3 and a half months.

This is it but without the weird bow thing in the front.

Let's Do This Together

On Leslie's blog she mentioned how she found her soon to be hubby on Kelly's "Show Us Your Singles".

The way it works is you think of someone who is single and fabulous. Being 25 most of my friends are just fabulous. ;)

I do have a single friend that instantly came to my mind! Of course I asked her permission and promised that I would spotlight myself is she would let me blog about her. She agreed that we should do this together.

This is my Best Friend Sarah. She is has the best sense of humor and personality ever, plus look at those adorable dimples!!

She loves the Lord so you have to be a man that loves Him as well. She is a southern girl who loves all things country. Currently she is living in Dallas TX working as a Physical Therapist Assistant but she is from Memphis TN. You would never know it since she has a love of wearing cowboy boots and going to rodeos. Sarah has a heart of gold and I love her more than life!! If you would love to meet her just leave me a post or send me an email, laurasbrown85@yahoo.com.

Now to hold up my end of the deal. This is me.

I have an undergrad degree in Business but I feel that God is calling me to teach, so I started grad school last summer and I am working on my Masters to teach middle school. I love to run and I am currently training for my third half marathon. I am crazy obsessed with reading. I usually have a stack of books by my bed but lately they have been ignored since school has started up again. Old movies are my favorite, something with Cary Grant is always the best!

Think of someone you know that is single an amazing and play along!

It's Coming ...

Hopefully?!?!

Its predicted that here in the south we will be getting some snow this afternoon! Sometime between noon and 3 pm it should be starting up.

If so I will have a fun weekend of ... homework. ha! This semester I am taking 9 hours which is the most I have taken so far. Working full time this is a bit of a load. This semester will be a little packed with two weddings and all the festivities that go along with that, training for my third Half Marathon, and of course school.

So if snow does come I am going to try to get a jump start on my school work. But I'm sure I will find some time to drink some hot chocolate and watch a good movie while the fire is on!

Is anyone else expecting snow today or tomorrow?

What I'm Loving

I have never participated in What I'm Loving Wednesday so I thought I would give it a try today.

I'm Loving my classes this semester! I have one online class and two physical classes. So far the online and the class I had last night seem like so much fun! I know this makes me sound like a nerd but I am so excited about Grad School this semester.

I'm Loving that I am finally getting out of God's way! I have a tendency to try and "help" Him too much. So I am officially giving it over to him and getting out of the way. It's always better when you let God deal with someone directly!

I'm Loving that OPI has a new line of nail polish out! It is their Texas line. I went to Dallas for New Years and to see my sweet Sarah a few weeks ago, and feel in love. Plus who doesn't like OPI?

I'm Loving the amazing opportunity I have been giving to work with some incredible women at church! I have been asked to be on the advisory board for our Women's Ministry and our first meeting is tonight. I can't wait to see what God is going to do with me and through me!

I'm Loving that I have a new countdown! If you have read my blog lately you know that I am not the most excited about my current job situation and I'm just trying to make it through to student teaching time. So I have decided that a little countdowns help me feel like its not so far away. Now that school is here the next countdown is to Groundhogs Day, where I hope our little friend does not see his shadow cause I am ready for spring!

I had a really cute picture of my countdown but my camera battery is dead. It will be up tomorrow!

Me and Lady J

Hooray it's Friday!!!

This weekend I am getting a mini vacation. I am house sitting for a family and staying with their sweet puppy Lady J.

House sitting is the best in my opinion. You get away and most of the places I stay are really nice! They usually have a workout room, theater room, tanning bed and they all insist that you take full advantage of any and everything. Its kind of like a vacation but without the long drive.

So I am looking forward to relaxing this last weekend before classes start on Tuesday!

49 out of 50?!

So today on the radio I heard that there is currently snow in 49 states!! Thats crazy!

We still have a inch or two left from this weekends snow storm. In Memphis we don't get a lot of snow so after two or three little snow days, little meaning about 3 inches, I have had my winter fix and I am ready for dresses, cute strappy shoes (complete with a pedicure) and bikinis!

Speaking of dresses:

This spring I will be in two of my friends weddings. One in April and the other is in May. Saturday I went shopping with my Momma!! I got my bridesmaid dress for Kim's wedding. It is very classic. The color is going to be Cobalt Blue, Go Tigers!!

Front

Back

I also bought the dress to wear to her rehersal dinner. I forgot to take a picture of it and I can't find it online but I am sure I will post a picture of it before April.

As we were walking out of the mall I remembered that there was a dress that I had my eye on since Thanksgiving!! I was desperately trying to wait it out to see if it would go on sale. Don't you just love playing chicken with the retail stores?! ha! Of course it still wasn't on sale but they only had one left in my size so I caved and bought it. I have no idea what I am going to wear it to yet, but I am sure I will find something but I just couldn't pass it up!!

I hope everyone in the 49 snowy states is staying warm!!

Just Supporting the Conference

Yesterday I was fortunate enough to have a snow day! For a little bit I thought that I would have to come into work but luckily at the last minute we got the call that work was closed!! So this now makes the fourth week in a row that I have only worked four days!!

I lounged around in jammies all day and read a ton. But I was a little productive and did jump on the treadmill for a while ... I do still have to run the half in Nashville so I can't skip out on training!

I also stayed up to watch the entire BCS Bowl last night! I was getting a little worried there for a second but Auburn managed to pull it out. It is so hard cheering for a team that you usually do not like just to support the conference. I've never really been a Cam Newton fan but I do give him kudos for his interview afterwards!

Five years in a row for the SEC!!!
