. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

Out Of The Stands

Last night at my Bible study our teacher showed us this Youtube.

I am sure we all know Derek Redmond and his performance in the 1992 Olympics. He was favored to win but was injured during the race and quickly fell to the track. However, what we remember the most is that he got up and threw the pain he finished the race.

What was more moving than anything else is that his father ran down from the stands to help carry his son to the finish line. In this video you don't see how his father fought the security guards to get to get to the field. Or how he pushed back he officials who tried to help his son off the track. He was there and was going to go the full distance with his son.

I couldn't help but cry last night as I watched. Things at work have been awful to say the least. We are currently in a position of rebuilding a company but it feels like we are building in out of a hole so that even with the progress we make we and not to level ground yet. The morale of the whole office is just terrible.

With everything going on at work and trying to focus on school too I just feel defeated sometimes. But just like in the video my Heavenly Father is fighting His way down out of the stands to come run the race with me. He picks me up and gives me strength to finish the race with His help.

That helps me to make it through the day when I think that I can't.

How Much Is That Doggie In The Window?

Happy Wednesday! We made it half way through this week! So congratulations to you!!
Yesterday a co-worker of mine mentioned that she is looking for a puppy for her little girl. We began to look for a dog that is little a cute, something that would be perfect for a 10 year old girl.

I have a miniature dachshund; however, she is a little big boned. Haha! But since she wanted a dog with hair that she could put bows in we decided on either a Poodle, King Charles Spaniel or a Maltipoo.

I want to take all of these sweet things home with me right now!!
Do any of ya'll own one of these types of dogs? Or do you have any recommendations?

Last Night of Fun!!

This weekend was all about the soon to be Mrs. Sanders!!

Friday night was her bachelorette party! We met and cooked dinner together, yummy yummy chicken alfredo with salads and muddies cupcakes. Then we had a little lingerie shower for her before we surprised her with the activity for the night . . . Strip to Fit!

While there we learned a little strip tease and a pole dance. It was so much fun and there were only a few minor bruises!! haha!!

The last stop of the night was downtown to dance and show off some of her new moves!

Saturday we woke up early and had a shower for her. Which I immediately left to go home and take a long 5 hour nap.

Sunday was of course church and then Bunny and I ran 7 miles on the new Green Line at Shelby Farms. It was so pretty running through the woods and with the leaves falling! I recommend that everyone takes a walk on it!

After our run we left and went to Halloween Express since it is less than a week to Halloween and we don't have costumes yet. We decided to each be a different branch of the military. I'm Navy, Bunny is Army and Sarah will be Air Force.

Here is what mine and Bunny's look like.

Sarah has not gotten her costume yet but we did find some cute ones for her!

What have you decided to be for Halloween?

We are starting off having a little lingerie shower and snacks. Then we are going to Strip to Fit to learn some pole dancing moves. We did this for my Sisters Bachelorette a couple of years ago and it was so much fun! We have managed to keep this a surprise from Janet!!

At Sissy's party learning our strip tease.

The whole group with our sexy pose!

Then the bride wants to go downtown and maybe show off the moves that she learned earlier! haha!

Don't worry there will be tons of hilarious pictures on Mondays blog!

I am so excited to celebrate this sweet couple wedding in just a few short weeks!

I Feel Like a Pharmacy

I told ya'll yesterday that I feel like I am starting to get sick . . . well I think it is official, I'm sick!

There is so much going on this weekend and then I am running in Race for the Cure next weekend so I don't have the time to be sick. :(

To remedy this I went to target and got some vitamins, I was out anyway, and I made sure to get the ones that had extra iron so that I don't feel sleepy. I also picked up some Airborne. I love it! I use it everyday that we are on the cruise!!

While I was shopping on the vitamin aisle I also saw some pills for joint health. My Sissy has recommended that I start taking some, I have always had bad joints. Has anyone every taken Glucosamine? Does it work?

If you have any suggestions to help me get over being sick before it gets too bad I would love them!!

Sweet Relaxation!

I am back from a refreshing long weekend! And I feel great!!

I spent the weekend in Cookeville with two of my favorite people!

My Sissy and Brother in Law!

I got there Saturday night after a Pure Barre class. Which was so incredibly difficult but I think I loved it! If you are interested in it click here for their website!

On Sunday we went to their church, which is so sweet! And then home for a nap and movies on Sunday night. Since it is getting close to Halloween we watched Young Frankenstein, which I had never seen before. I know it amazed my Sissy too. It will be coming to the Orpheum soon so I think I am going to have to get tickets to go and see it!

This weekend we also watched The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and Garfield's Halloween Adventure. We did some shopping and a lot of eating! Cookeville does not have very many chain restaurants so it was fun to eat at some different places and they were delicious!

But now it is back to work for me. At least its a short week!

P.J. Day!!!

My coworkers and I decided this week that we needed some fun at our job, its been lacking lately. So to boost the work morale we decided to have Jammie Day!

We all arrived in our comfy pj's, house shoes and all! We have doughnuts for breakfast and we all brought snacks for the rest of the day. We thought since we would be in our jammies that we should bring snacks that we would have at a slumber party!

So our menu of the day includes rotel, popcorn, bagel bites, cookies and of course candy! With all of our festive foods I am sure glad that I will be running after work today!

Happy Friday!

Better Than The Last

Last night my work bestie, Candice, and I went to see Wicked! It was a first for her and a third for me! If at all possible it was better than last time!
The cast was AMAZING!! They really did a great job. We had dinner first a the Majestic Grille on Main St. here in Memphis. If you have not been you need to go immediately. Here is a little about it off their website:

Originally built in 1913 as the Majestic No. 1, a silent picture house that entertained Memphians for three decades, the restaurant gives diners a glimpse of the heady Hollywood days of ol’

So even while you are eating dinner they have a silent movie playing on a big screen.

We then walked down Main St. to the Orpheum!! I have to take a little break from this post to tell ya'll that I love the Orpheum. It does not matter if I am there to see an old movie during the summer movie series, a ballet with Ballet Memphis or a Broadway show! I just love dressing up and walking into this beautiful building!

Once we got in and found our seats we were ready for the show to begin. I was a little sad at first because the seats weren't in my favorite section, the Grand Tier, but they were wonderful!

After seeing it again I think I might have to actually read the book! Have any of ya'll read it? What about the other two books?

Oh I wish I could see it every night!

Not Decorations

I love to decorate for holidays. One of my favorite things to do during the Christmas season is driving around and looking at all the houses.

With Halloween coming up in a few days several people have begun to put out some pumpkins and other spooky decorations. But can I please say that the large blow up "decorations" are not really decorations!

Oh this is probably my biggest pet peeve! I hate they way they look. I am so sorry if you have some of these in your yard. But to me they look a little lazy. It's like the homeowner didn't really want to decorate but thought they needed to do something so they just threw this inflatable balloon type thing in the yard and called it a day.

And during the day when they aren't blown up they just lay on the yard like a hot air balloon that got shot down! haha!

Sorry for the rant but as I was leaving my neighborhood this morning I saw too many houses with this type of "festive decoration" and I had to say something.

Do you like the inflatable pumpkins, Christmas trees and snowmen?
