Spinning Under The Moon

We made it through another Monday! I always feel like that is an accomplishment!

Last night I went to step class, which I haven't been to in two weeks, but I that is because according to my Half Marathon schedule I needed rest days . . . so I wasn't just skipping. :) I felt great this morning. I love my step class! But I have always wanted to try a SPIN class! Has anyone ever done one before? Do you like it?

As everyone knows October is Breast Cancer Awareness month! I will be participating in a couple of events this month. One, of course, is the Race for the Cure on October 30. The second one is not breast cancer related but it is the Ashley Scott Memorial 5K on October 9. She was a high school teacher that was in an abusive marriage that ended up taking her life. The last event I learned about last night at step class. It's called Spinning Under The Moon. The Bartlett Rec Center is hosting it, but you do not have to be a member to participate. They will have 3 different hours of spin class outside "under the moon". The event is free but they are asking for a $10 donation. Why spinning? Last year the rec center had an instructor that lost her battle with breast cancer and she was a spin instructor. It is going to be held on Oct. 18! I think that is going to be the perfect day for me to give spinning a try!

  1. I've been wanting to try spinning too...I've heard such good things about it, but don't know if I can handle it! Keep us updated on if you do it or not :)

  3. I loooooooooooooove spin classes!! I used to be so religious about going twice a week, but since we're not members of the gym anymore, I REALLY miss it. Go. And think of me while you're there... maybe it will feel like I'm doing the workout as well ;-) Hah!! It's such a great workout-- I used to burn at least 600 calories.

  4. Not to be Debbie Downer..but i HATED spin class... it's painful! it's not just spinning its standing up on the bike AND spinning (kill me!) and the bike just stays in the same spot! I lasted 30 minutes and had to straight up leave that junt.
Maybe i should give it a try again but i've not had the heart to go back i'd much rather take a ride outside (on a real bike)
I think you either love it or hate it... hope you love it..or at least love helping out the cause! :)
