. . . I am fairly certain that given a Cape and a nice Tiara, I could save the world!

The Little Runner that Could . . .

. . . I think I can, I think I can!! This is what I will be repeating to myself for the next 8 weeks!!

My beautiful besties and I have signed up for the Disney Princess Half Marathon to support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We ran in the St. Jude Half in December. However, after I stopped being sore and could feel my legs again I experienced some trouble with my right knee. Since that run I have literally done nothing athletic at all. I decided that if I was going to finish the Princess Run I need to begin training again and better too! I am a lucky girl and two of my partner runners are in the health field, one a nurse and the other is a physical therapist. They both looked at my knee this week and told me that I have stressed the tendon at the bottom of my knee.

We have decided as a group that we need to train better. Last time around we just ran a couple of times a week and pretty much hoped for the best. . . not a good idea! haha! According to our Runners Magazine, that's right we are offically runners now so we get that, it says that "you need to workout for your run, not run for your workout"!! Such a wise statement! haha! So we have started training last night with some leg weights, yuck, and step class.

My only problem is the weights. I just feel like since I am a girl and I use such light weights that everyone in the gym looks at me like I don't know what I am doing! Oh the price for not passing out in DisneyWorld!

Here is what the next few weeks of my life will look like.

Mondays: Cross Training/Leg Weights & Step Class
Tuesdays: Runs Ranging from 3-5 Miles
Wednesdays: Cross Training/Yoga
Thursdays: Short Run 2-3 Miles
Fridays: Runs Ranging from 3-5 Miles
Saturdays: REST!!
Sundays: Long Run Ranging from 6-11 Miles

Hopefully with the extra Cross Trainings I will be in better shape this time around! And if we all make it through alive we will be treating ourselves! More on our reward later!!
